Hong Kong airline makes embarrassing typo on side of plane

We’ve all made spelling errors from time to time, but this could be the biggest one ever.

Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific had a lettering mishap on a Boeing 777-367, and it didn’t go unnoticed.

Photos shared on the Hong Kong Aviation Discussion Board Facebook group show one of their planes at Hong Kong International Airport featuring the words "CATHAY PACIIC."

WTF? 

More like, "where's the F?"

But the airline owned the mistake, making light of it on social media.

An engineer for Haeco, the airline’s sister company, told the South China Morning Post he was little suss about how it happened.

“The spacing is too on-point for a mishap,” the anonymous engineer said.

“We have stencils.

“Should be a blank gap in between letters if it was a real mistake, I think.”

Hmm.

The airline also shared a photo of a worker correcting the error, which reportedly cost thousands of dollars to fix.
