Baby can’t stand the sound of her father’s singing

Babies may be cute, but they can also be brutal little blighters.

When they’re yet to master the control of their own bladders, you can’t expect them to understand the complexities of politeness.

They don’t have the energy to care about hurting people’s feelings; they’re busy trying to master the art of sitting up on their own.

So if they don’t like something, they’re not going to sugar-coat it.

They’re going to be as blunt and expressive as their tiny bodies allow.

When they’re not impressed, they won’t just keep their thoughts to themselves until they can complain to their besties on a group messaging app - they’re going scream and cry.

And that’s exactly what baby Emma did when her father Chris Russell started singing to her.

The three-month-old was far from wowed by her dad’s pipes, bursting into tears as he tortured her with his rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow.

She hated it and she wasn’t shy about showing it.

Even more brutal was how blatant she was about preferring the singing of her mother, Louise Tucker.

“When Chris was a baby himself, he had a musical box that played this song, so he is fond of the song and wanted to impart this to Emma,” she said.

“'It comes as a surprise she does not like Somewhere over the Rainbow because when she was in the womb, her father would sing it to her.”

But it turns out she was not a fan of the iconic Wizard of Oz song.

Tucker said she wasn’t sure why My Girl is one of Emma’s favourites.

However, it’s very clear she prefers her mother’s version of the song over her father’s singing.

“It certainly makes her happier,” Tucker said.
