Ukrainians name star after 'dickhead' Putin

Ukrainian astronomers have named a star "Putin is a dickhead", as the battle between pro-Ukraine and pro-Russian separatists intensifies.

The star, adopted through the Pale Blue Dot Project for just $10, was officially named "Putin-Hulio!" after Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to The Wire.

Hulio, sometimes spelled khulio, is a Ukrainian term which loosely translates to a combination of the words "dickhead", "f-----" and "arsehole".

The word, originally slang for penis, has become synonymous with "terrible dictator" and is a popular insult when referring to Mr Putin.

The president is yet to respond to his newest namesake.
