SpaceX to launch first rocket since Falcon 9 explosion

Aerospace company SpaceX is set to launch its first rocket in California tomorrow since the Falcon 9 explosion on September 1.
Last year’s explosion destroyed the unmanned rocket itself, its payload, a US$260 million (A$347 million) satellite owned by Facebook and damaged the launch pads at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
SpaceX has traced the explosion to a helium tank in the second stage of the rocket which split while the engine was being trialled.
Tomorrow's rocket will launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
It will carry 10 communications satellites for the company Iridium.
SpaceX is headed by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who wants to revolutionise the launch industry by making rocket components reusable.
The company had successfully launched a Falcon 9 in August, sending a Japanese communications satellite into orbit and then landing the rocket on a floating drone ship.
