Samsung takes swipe at Apple's bending woes in video

Samsung has made a not-so-subtle jab at Apple's iPhone 6 misfortunes in a video for its Galaxy Note 4, claiming it can withstand human weight and does not bend.

The video was published to the YouTube account of Samsung Tomorrow, the tech giant’s official blog and was viewed more than 600,000 times over the weekend.

"Our hips are strong, probably stronger than we think they are. Leave things in your back pocket long enough and things may bend," according to the video, which shows an animated figure pretending to sit and re-sit on their phone.

Unsatisfied with just one jab at its tech rival, the video continues to show a 100kg man sitting on the phone as part of a human weight test.

Last month, owners of the iPhone 6 have discovered the new smartphone has an unwanted feature – it can bend out of shape.

One man said the shape of his phone was left distorted after it was in the front pocket of his suit pants while travelling to a wedding.

The discovery caused widespread interest, with many poking fun at the flexible nature of the phone on social media, while two teenagers in the UK filming themselves bending an iPhone 6 Plus in a busy Apple store.

Since its release last month, Apple has sold more than 10 million units of its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
