Man calculates his own heart rate during proposal

Asking someone to marry you is probably one of the most nerve wracking things in life – and now science has the data to prove it.

Reddit user sesipikai was so keen to track his heart rate during his proposal he wore a heart rate belt during a trip to Rome where he eventually popped the big question.

In the lead up to the proposal his heart beat remains steady at around 100 BPMs before slowly beginning to rise as he begins the proposal.

Then, the moment he pops the big question his heart rate shoots up to 130 BPMs before slowly begin to fall back down again after he receives a big "Yes".

Talking about the experience on the site, sesipikai wrote that in the lead up to the big question he was "so afraid of losing the ring".

"It's the stress! That ring burns your pocket like there's no tomorrow," he wrote.
