Councilman visits men's room during meeting, forgets hot mic

A city council meeting in a US town has come to an embarrassing halt after a council member got up and made a trip to the men's bathroom but forgot he was wearing a wireless microphone.

As the sound of the councilman relieving himself echoed through the council chambers at Georgetown, Texas, mayor Rachael Jonrowe was unable to continue without laughing.

The distracting noise came at a time when Jonrowe was speaking somberly about infectious diseases.

The sound of a flushing toilet only made it harder to take proceedings seriously.

Viewers of footage taken from inside council chambers, uploaded online on YouTube on Friday and reported by social media blogs such as Mashable, also noted that the unidentified council member appears to have neglected to wash his hands following his trip to the bathroom.
