Young woman killed in high speed two-car crash outside Orange

A young woman has lost her life and two others have been seriously injured in a high speed two-car crash just outside Orange.

A Toyota Hilux ute and a Holden Astra collided on the Mitchell Highway about 20km east of Orange about 4.30pm yesterday.

The 20-year-old female driver of the Holden was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, a 32-year-old man, survived the crash and was taken to Orange Health Service where he is in a serious condition.

His 63-year-old passenger was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital and is also in a serious condition.

A section of the Mitchell Highway was closed for several hours yesterday as police examined the scene but has since been reopened.
