Young woman dies after car strikes tree in Warrandtye

A young woman has died after her car struck a tree in Melbourne's north-east yesterday.
The woman, 27, who has not yet been identified, was driving on Heidelberg-Warrandyte Road, Warrandyte, at 5.25pm.
Police say the Croydon woman’s car clipped an oncoming vehicle, causing her to lose control and hit a tree.

The other car stopped at the scene and contacted emergency services, who were unable to revive the woman.
The woman was the only person in the car at the time of the crash.
A report is being pre report for the Coroner.
The woman’s death brings Victoria’s road toll to 231 compared to 272 last year.
