Young men killed in two-vehicle crash in Adelaide

Two men have died after a crash between a car and motorcycle in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

A Toyota Corolla and a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided at Bolivar just before 7.20pm yesterday.

The crash happened in a 90km/h section of Port Wakefield Road where southbound traffic can turn right and cross northbound lanes to reach an On The Run service station and Krispy Kreme Doughnut store.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 29-year-old Burton man, and a passenger in the Toyota, a 24-year-old Noarlunga Downs man, both died at the scene.

Three other people in the car, including the male driver, were taken to hospital for treatment.

A section of busy Port Wakefield Road was closed as Major Crash investigators examined the scene but the road has now reopened and traffic is flowing normally this morning.

The fatalities bring the 2017 South Australian road toll to 82, compared to 62 at the same time last year.

Eighteen motorcyclists have been killed on the state’s roads this year, compared to six deaths this time last year.
