Two young women found in Sydney's Royal National Park, teen still missing

Two young women who reported themselves lost in Sydney's Royal National Park yesterday have been found, but a 16-year-old girl linked to the same park remains missing. 

The two 21-year-old women, Nicki Groves and Kate Bateup, reported themselves lost about 2pm yesterday after walking along an unknown track from Waterfall Railway Station, police said.

Officers then lost contact with the women and launched a search.

It was suspended at nightfall and resumed this morning, and rescuers arrived back at their search command centre with the two young women about 10.30am.

Meanwhile, a search for missing 16-year-old Sydney girl Cassie Olczak which is  focused on the same park is continuing, after she was last seen at the same nearby railway station on Sunday.

Helicopters, police on trail bikes, dog squad teams and about 40 volunteers had begun searching the park for her about noon yesterday, just hours before the two women reported themselves lost. 

Police focused on the park after uncovering CCTV footage of Cassie at the Waterfall Railway Station about 7pm Sunday.

She went missing after visiting friends a day after returning from a trip to visit her father in Abu Dhabi.

Yesterday, police said they were hopeful of finding her today.
