An eight-year-old boy has been seriously injured by a falling tree branch at Erskine Falls in Lorne, southwest of Melbourne.
Paramedics were called to Erskine Falls Road just after 11am after the young boy was struck to the back of the head.

He suffered serious head injuries and has been taken to Lorne Hospital in a stable condition.
He will be transferred to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne by helicopter later today.
