Young boy critical after alleged assault in Sydney home
A young boy is in a critical condition after he was allegedly assaulted in a Sydney home last night.
The five-year-old was found with serious injuries after emergency services were called to the home in Cabramatta just before 10pm.
The child's 31-year-old mother and her 20-year-old boyfriend have been charged and tonight are behind bars.

Police allege he had been assaulted with "a stick or broom handle", suffering head-to-toe bruises and haematomas.
He was taken to Westmead Children's Hospital after being treated at the scene.
The child's mother is accused of not providing for him and causing him danger of serious injury.
The mother's partner is accused of wounding the boy.
Police allege what started as an act of discipline ended up leaving the child with bleeding on the brain, broken bones and burns.
The child tonight is on life support.
