Truck slams into tram causing traffic chaos

A truck that hit a tram caused traffic chaos on a busy road in Melbourne's north this morning.

Authorities said the truck collided with the tram on Sydney Road near Baxter Street in Coburg just after 6.30am today.

Paramedics were at the scene and said two men were taken to hospital with leg and facial injuries.

Tram services were halted as emergency workers cleaned up the debris but have returned to normal.
