Three armed tobacco store robbers have sentence increased

Three men who robbed a tobacco store in Sydney’s south-west in 2016 have had their sentences increased.

Osman El Sayah, Ahmed Idaayen, Mohammed Mansaray will now spend a minimum of one year and 10 months behind bars.

The Crown appealed the original 10-month sentencing after the men were jailed over a robbery at a tobacco store in Yagoona on September 4, 2016.

The trio were armed with a knife and meat cleaver and vandalised the store after they were locked inside the store by an employee.

They then assaulted the male employee.

Terrifying CCTV footage shows the employee being jumped on as he huddled on the floor.

The masked thieves are seen stashing cash and cigarettes into a bag.

The men ransacked the store in an attempt to flee once they realised they were trapped inside, even hacking at the door with the meat cleaver.

Police arrived with their guns drawn and arrested the men.

The employee was hospitalised.
