Wrong document used in bill talks: union

The firefighters union says draft laws stemming from Victoria's CFA dispute should be withdrawn from parliament after it was discovered senators were being briefed on the wrong document.

Peter Marshall, secretary of the United Firefighters Union, said an outdated version of the CFA-UFU agreement was being used in discussions with crossbench senators with whom the government is negotiating to get the bill passed.

"The minister and the Senate committee have failed on even the most basic of measures - briefing parliamentary decision-makers with an accurate copy of the agreement," Mr Marshall said in a statement on Wednesday.
