Deodorant sold at Woolworths recalled over explosion fears

A body spray sold at Woolworths has been recalled over fears it could "pop or explode".

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is urging customers who bought the Jack The Barber 150ml/ 90g spray deodorant range from Woolworths stores nationwide to return the product.

The deodorant cans were available for sale between September 18 and December 20, 2022.

The recall applies to all fragrances including nomad, rogue and rebel.

"The base of the body spray can is not sufficiently constructed to deal with extreme pressure and could pop or explode," the ACCC said in a recall alert.

"If the base of can pops or explodes due to being exposed to extreme heat or pressure (for example if left in a hot car) this could injure people or damage items in close proximity of the can."

Customers are being urged to safely dispose of the product immediately or take their receipt to the place of purchase for a full refund.
