Man found critically injured in Woolloomooloo unit

Detectives are investigating after a man was found critically injured inside a Sydney unit overnight.

Emergency crews were called to the unit on Dowling Street, Woolloomooloo just before 9.30pm after a concern for welfare was raised about the man who lives there.

On arrival, police and paramedics found a 60-year-old man with serious injuries to his face and head.

Police said the man may have received these injuries days before he was found.

The man was treated by paramedics and taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was set up at the unit and detectives are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage which may help the investigation to come forward or call CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 444.
