Woolies pulls broccoli after spider scare
AAP
Woolworths has suspended its supply of broccoli from three producers after customers found deadly redback spiders crawling on the vegetable.
Customers posted photos of the venomous spider on their broccoli on the supermarket's Facebook page last weekend, prompting Woolworths to withdraw a batch of broccoli from Queensland and a few NSW stores on Tuesday.
Woolworths, which has dozens of other broccoli suppliers, said it was working closely with the three identified Queensland suppliers to investigate the problem.
