Women's gym workout secretly taped and posted on social media

A gym workout of women in the US has been secretly taped and posted on social media with sexual innuendoes.

“Humpday” and “dayum” were captioned on some of the images taken of women during a mid-workout at Blue Ridge Crossfit in North Carolina, ABC America reports.

The posts by gym owner Tom Tomlo have drawn anger from patrons online.

“I don’t come to the gym to be sexualised. I don’t come to the gym to have my body on display,” Amanda Turlongton told ABC.

Ms Turlonton said she agreed to feature in exercise videos to empower other women.

However, Mr Tomlo said that his video was taken out of context.

“Someone took offence to it. They took a picture of it and they put it in a way where I see how it could be misunderstood,” he said. 

The gym's Facebook page has since been removed.
