A woman will front court today after allegedly leading police on a high-speed pursuit through south-west Sydney with a three-year-old child in a car seat.

Police said the woman drove through two red lights at speed at Cabramatta about 10pm yesterday.

A fully-marked police vehicle activated lights and sirens, but the driver allegedly failed to stop, initiating a pursuit through Cabramatta and Yagoona.

Police said the chase lasted eight minutes, ending near Rodd Street, Birrong during which the woman allegedly reached speeds of 150km/h and travelled onto the wrong side of the road.

Upon stopping the car, officers discovered a 23-year-old man in the front-passenger seat and a three-year-old child.

The woman faces six charges including negligent driving, drive while suspended, police pursuit and speeding.
