Woman arrested after allegedly stealing from visually impaired man using ATM in Sydney's west

NSW Police have arrested a woman after she allegedly stole from a visually impaired man in Sydney's west last month.

A 24-year-old woman is assisting officers with their investigation after she turned herself in to Mt Druitt Police Station about 2pm today.

A public appeal was made after a woman allegedly stole from a 72-year-old man who was trying to withdraw money from an ATM at a shopping centre in Mt Druitt.

He required help due to being visually impaired.

While waiting for staff to help him, it's alleged a woman approached him and offered to withdraw the money for him.

The man accepted the woman's help, but she allegedly withdrew a larger amount than requested.

It's further alleged she then fled with the cash.
