A Chinese woman left with a massive bald patch after trying to eat corn attached to a drill has released footage of herself undergoing medical treatment to prove the mishap was not faked.

The long-haired woman was attempting to replicate an internet challenge that requires participants to eat a corn cob in under 10 seconds with the help of the drill.

Her quest for viral fame went far better than she could have expected but not for the reason she intended.

After a few seconds her hair became entangled in the fast-spinning drill, which ripped a huge chunk of hair from the middle of her head, leaving her with a large bald patch.

The video went viral and quickly led to claims that the stunt had been staged.

To prove the doubters wrong the woman has released a video showing her being treated by a doctor.

The doctor dabs her patch with a cloth but it looks like the woman will still be bald long after the internet has forgotten about her.
