Man arrested after woman's body found in Melbourne unit

A man has been arrested after a woman's body was found in a Brunswick West unit overnight.

Police were called to the Waxman Parade unit about 1.30am and found the body of the 29-year-old woman inside.

A 29-year-old Brunswick West man was arrested and is assisting police, with homicide detectives investigating.

Police believe the pair were known to each other.
