Melbourne murder accused faces court

MELBOURNE, July 7 AAP - A man accused of murdering a woman whose body was discovered at a suburban Melbourne home has appeared in court.

Jian Li, 48, of Cranbourne, is charged with murdering Dong Mei Sun on Sunday.

Police found Ms Sun with upper body injuries when they attended the home in Narre Warren South on Sunday night.

She died while police were at the property.

Li appeared briefly in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon but the unavailability of a Mandarin interpreter meant the hearing could not proceed.

He was remanded in custody to face a filing hearing on Tuesday.
