Woman’s body found in Adelaide creek under ‘unexplained’ circumstances

Mystery surrounds the discovery of a woman’s body in shallow swampland in Adelaide yesterday.

Police have converged on the site at St Kilda where the 52-year-old woman’s body was found by a passer-by near a hotel at midday yesterday.

The woman was from the Gawler region north of Adelaide and police said her death is being treated as “unexplained”.

It’s understood police are contacting her family members in an attempt to piece together the circumstances leading to her death.

It’s been confirmed she was found wearing shoes but authorities would not comment on the state of her clothing. 

A red sedan is parked near to where the woman’s body was found, and has been there since yesterday morning. Police have not confirmed if it is linked to the investigation.

Police divers are searching the surrounding bodies of water for evidence.

The possibility of foul play has not been ruled out.
