Woman refuses to take $1000 from Today Show presenter

A woman has turned down $1000 in cash when Today Show weatherman Stevie Jacobs tried to give it to her on live TV this morning.

The woman was at a bus stop when Jacobs approached her with the wad of cash as part of the show’s Random Acts of Kindness segment.

“You're on your way to work this morning or school?” the presenter asked her.

The confused woman did not answer, even when Jacobs told her she could take home the money.

“You don't want the $1000?” a shocked Jacobs asked to sounds of disbelief and laughter back in the studio.

'It's real money," Jacobs tried to reassure the woman, as she shook her head and appeared to back away from the presenter.

Luckily, an eager elderly man who was standing behind Jacobs watching the exchange was all too keen to step in.

"What would you do with a 1000 bucks that has just been knocked back by somebody else?" Jacobs asked the man.

“Spend it well,” the man replied, before adding he would pay off a few bills.
