Woman in serious condition after Sydney stabbing

A man is on the run and a woman is in a serious condition after being stabbed multiple times in eastern Sydney this morning.

Emergency services were called to a unit block on Anzac Parade, Kensington just after 7.30am following reports a woman had been stabbed.

Police understand the incident occurred in a common courtyard area.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with multiple stab wounds.

She is in a serious but stable condition.

Police are searching for a man - believed to be the woman's partner - who is wanted for questioning.
