Woman in critical condition after hitting horses

An elderly woman is in a critical condition after she drove her car into three horses in Gisborne this morning.
The woman in her late 60s is reportedly suffering from head and facial injuries and was taken to The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
"A passenger was uninjured but was treated for shock and also taken to The Royal Melbourne for further observation," said Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen.

Leading Senior Constable, Mustafa Emin, said the two horses died on impact and the third had to be put-down at the scene.
