Mum finds live maggots in toddler’s McDonald’s burger

A woman has been left horrified after finding squirming maggots inside her toddler's McDonald’s cheeseburger.

Emmii Mchugh shared on Facebook that she was dining at the fast-food outlet in Maryborough, Queensland, with her three-year-old yesterday afternoon.

After ordering a Happy Meal for her child, she opened the wrapping of the cheeseburger and made the sickening discovery.

Video showed what appears to be small maggots wriggling on the beef patty of the burger.

Ms Mchugh said she was “absolutely disgusted” by the incident.

“I’ve kept and frozen the product also have the receipt along with a photo and video. I will be taking this as far as I can,” she wrote in the post.

McDonald's told 9news.com.au it was "impossible" for the incident to have occurred in its restaurant.

"Having looked in to this further, with our cooking processes and procedures, it is impossible for this to have occurred in our restaurant," it said.
