Garbage truck driver charged after woman struck and killed in Sydney's west
A garbage truck driver has been charged after a woman was fatally struck in Sydney's west this morning.
Police have been told the 61-year-old woman was hit as she crossed Power Street in Doonside around 7am.
She died at the scene.

The garbage truck driver, a 54-year-old Doonside man, was not injured in the crash but was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
He was later taken to Blacktown Police Station to be interviewed by police.

This afternoon, he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, driving in a dangerous manner, negligent driving occasioning death and not keeping left of a dividing line.
He was granted bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court on April 7.
