A woman will face court for allegedly stalking and attempting to extort federal Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John.
Detectives from the WA Police Family Violence Investigation Squad charged the 40-year-old woman with aggravated stalking with intent to intimidate and demanding property by written threats.

The woman will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court later on Thursday.
WA Police alleged her victim was her former partner.
Nine.com.au has contacted Steele-John for comment.
Steele-John is currently on leave from the Greens party and Parliament House over allegations of inappropriate conduct against women between 2017 and 2025.
The allegations were raised by seven party members in a letter to Greens Leader David Shoebridge in September.
Steele-John has denied the allegations and claimed that he was the alleged victim of his former partner.
In a letter posted to social media on October, he claimed his former partner had been abusive during their brief relationship in 2025 and the matter had been referred to WA Police.

He said he was never exclusive with his former partner and was now in a polyamorous relationship.
“When I ended things, she refused to accept that there wasn’t ‘someone else’. My new relationship, which is polyamorous, was not the reason for the breakup, but after days of sustained pressure, I told her about my partner,” he said at the time.
“Over the next 55 hours, she attempted to call me 56 times and sent over 700 messages containing violent, abusive and pornographic text, audio and imagery.
“She began sending ‘invoices’ for ‘Companionship & Care Services’ demanding $12,000, itemised with things like ‘Patience & tolerance levy’, ‘Cancellation/stonewalling/ silent treatment admin fee’, as well as the cost of a new tattoo, hairstyle and holiday.
“After she repeatedly ignored my pleas to stop, I blocked her. What followed were emails from various accounts, anonymous text messages, public comments on social media, and threats to destroy my reputation unless I paid the ‘invoice’.”

Steele-John had initially refused to take leave, saying his party leader was unable to direct him to do so, and insisted he would serve his role and his community.
He was also forced to delete a social media sharing the letter that was sent to Shoebridge after users criticised that it breached the confidentiality of the signatories.
Shoebridge said social media posts were not the way to resolve allegations that were made.
“It is not the way. This needs to be dealt with the respect and the dignity and the care that it’s entitled to. And that is an independent inquiry,” he said in October.
“Women and all of us deserve a safe space and I’m doing everything I can to ensure that they have that assurance by this independent inquiry.”
The WA Greens are currently investigating the allegations against Steele-John.
