Woman charged with murder over death of eight-week-old baby girl

A woman has been charged with murder over the death of an eight-week-old baby girl.
The newborn was found unconscious in a bath in a home in Shalvey, in Sydney's west, just after midday yesterday.
The girl was taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead however she died a short time later.

A crime scene was established at the home and it was forensically examined.
A woman, 35, was arrested and taken under police guard to Westmead Hospital for treatment and assessment.
She has since been charged with murder and appeared by way of bedside hearing at Mt Druitt Local Court this afternoon.
She was refused bail to appear at the same court on March 31.
