Police search for attacker who indecently assaulted a woman in south Sydney

A 21-year-old woman has been left with a puncture wound to her mouth after being attacked in southern Sydney.

Police said the woman was walking home from Banksia's train station early this morning when a man indecently assaulted her.

He fled when she screamed, and local residents came to help.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene but she did not require further treatment.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to find the man, who was described as between 160 and 165cm tall, having an Indian subcontinental appearance, with short black hair and of a medium build.
