Woman assaulted with pool ball in Sydney hotel

Police have asked for public help to identify a man after a woman was assaulted with a pool ball at a hotel in Canley Vale, in south-west Sydney.

The 39-year-old woman was hit in the head with a pool ball after she and another woman began arguing early on Saturday, September 24, police believe.

Police have been told a pool ball was thrown during the argument, but it missed.

Investigators believe a man then threw a ball at the 39-year-old, and it hit her in the head.

Police were called to the hotel about 4.20am, and the injured woman was taken to hospital.

Investigators are still looking a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Islander appearance, with a large build, dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt with white sleeves at the time of the incident.
