Sydney teen charged with two terror-related offences

An 18-year-old Sydney woman has been charged in relation to a counter-terrorism investigation.

Alo-Bridget Namoa, from Auburn, was arrested in Guildford today at 10am and later charged by counter terrorism police.

Police anticipate she will be charged with two terror-related offences, including possession of a knife and documents related to a terrorist act.

It is understood Ms Namoa is the wife of Sameh Bayda, who himself is facing three charges of collecting documents likely to facilitate terrorist acts.

The woman had previously been charged with failing to answer questions.

"We anticipate that we will charge her with two terrorism offences. The first will be possessing a thing connected to a terrorist act and the second will be collecting documents connected to a terrorist act," Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn said.

"This is part of an ongoing investigation and this person has been before the courts before.

"We are not dealing with any new specific threat."

Ms Namoa was formally charged and refused bail to face Fairfield Local Court this afternoon.
