Woman arrested after Vic pedestrian hurt

A Melbourne woman has been arrested after allegedly losing control of her car and hitting a wheelie bin that seriously injured a pedestrian.

Police believe the woman, 41, lost control of her car in St Albans and hit the bin just after 11pm Thursday (AEDT).

The car flipped on its roof and a male pedestrian, 29, was hit by the bin, causing him a broken leg.

The pedestrian was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital but the female driver and a male passenger were uninjured.

A second male passenger sustained minor injuries and also taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The woman was arrested and will be interviewed by police after refusing a preliminary breath test at the scene.
