A Winnebago parked in the road has sparked a huge row between neighbours of an affluent Sydney harbourside suburb.

One resident kicked off the unseemly spat in leafy Mosman by leaving four-line note on the windscreen demanding the van be remanded.

Another local posted a note defending the vehicle’s owners before they themselves decided to reply.

Photos of the Winnebago with all three notes placed under the wipers have been posted on Twitter.

“This is peak Mosman – a friend spotted this.” Dannielle Miller posted.

“ATTENTION. Could you please move this piece of s*** off our road? It’s an embarrassment to residents,” the first note read.

“The vehicle may not be pretty, but what is certainly ugly is the comments attached to it, and the insanely arrogant idea that there is some sort of aesthetic standard vehicles must reach before they may be parked on this street,” said the second.

“Shake from your wheels the dust of the rude, the presumptuous, and the arrogant.”

The Winnebago owner then weighed in with a final word on the subject, which put everything into context.

“FYI. To the person who chose to deface our vehicle. If you have a problem with our vehicle parked on “our” road, please come and chat to us (feel free to knock) rather than vandalise our property,” the note stated.

“We could have explained that we are parked temporarily while we pack and ready ourselves for a trip around Australia this year.

They go on to explain that they would have left sooner but had attended the scattering of ashes for a close friend.

“We understand that our Winnie is a large eyesore and apologise for any embarrassment it has caused you.”
