Aussie Home Loan founder hopes to break Australian property record with $200 million house sale
A four-storey luxury mansion in Sydney's illustrious suburb Point Piper has hit the market, with its owner looking to smash the Australian record for the most expensive home ever sold.
The sprawling harbourside house is expected to sell for over $200 million, listing agent Ken Jacobs at Forbes Global Property told 9news.com.au.
If the sale meets the lofty price guide, it would eclipse the $130 million paid by Atlassian founder Scott Farquhar in 2022 for his place which is also located in Point Piper.

Named Wingadal, the house's owner Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond listed the mansion today with hopes of spending more time overseas after the sale.
"Wingadal has been a special home for my family over the past two decades, and now I'm looking forward to spending more time travelling overseas," Symond said in a statement.
"While being an exceptional family home, we have also enjoyed hosting many important events for charities and other worthwhile causes."
"Wingadal" boasts four bedrooms alongside a separate two-bedroom apartment.
Naturally, it also features a pool, a movie theatre with 22 seats, and undercover parking for 20 cars with an eight-car garage.

The home also makes space for two commercial kitchens and a wine cellar with capacity for 2500 bottles, the property's listing reads.
There is also an "internal entertaining area" with room for 500 people to mingle and gaze out at the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
The mansion was designed by architect Alec Tzannes, and sits on 2676 square metres of land, with a 98-metre stretch of Sydney Habour included.
Inside the house, an artwork is inscribed with words seller John Symond's mother once told him.
"Johnny in life think big, really, really big, and then double it again," the inscription reads.
