Unseen images of missing boy William Tyrrell released

Never-seen-before images of NSW boy William Tyrrell taken the day before he was reported missing have been released by the coronial inquiry.

William disappeared at the age of 3 while playing at his foster grandmother's house at Kendall in the Port Macquarie region of the state's Mid North Coast on September 12, 2014.

Now Deputy State Coroner Harriet Grahame has approved release of new information relating to his disappearance, including images captured on CCTV of William with his foster family at a McDonald's restaurant at Heatherbrae.

The photos show William, his two foster carers and his sister entering the fast food outlet on the evening of September 11, 2014 after leaving their Sydney home.

In one image, William is seen on the shoulders of the male foster carer.

The photos were released along with a redacted police timeline of the group's movements.

It says the group ordered their meals about 6.25pm and after collecting their food sat at the bench opposite the counter.

At about 6.40pm all four left the store, with both William and his female foster carer stopping to place an object in a bin. He then runs off to catch up with his male foster carer.

The next day he was reported missing from his foster grandmother's property by his foster mother.

The inquest by the NSW Coroner's Court will resume at Taree next March.
