The wife of a dance teacher awaiting sentencing for preying upon children at his Sydney school will give evidence at an inquiry in Sydney today.

The woman will testify under a pseudonym at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The commission is entering the fifth day of a hearing into child abuse at two schools in Sydney.

Yesterday it heard evidence from a former student of RG Dance who told how Grant Davies, one of the founders of the Sydney-based school, sexually molested and terrorised her for six years.

Davies pleaded guilty last year to multiple charges of sex offences against children.

Today a former part-time teacher at the school who alerted parents to Davies' behaviour is expected to take the stand. So too is his wife.

Another witness over the next few days will be a mother who was jailed for sending Davies explicit pictures of her daughters.

The commission will examine the adequacy of a NSW Police investigation into Davies when there were allegations he indecently assaulted a minor. No case was brought at that time and Davies continued his offending.

The hearing before Justice Jennifer Coate is expected to run all this week.
