Whistleblower proposal not enough: Labor
AAP
Federal Labor is pushing back against the government's plan to expand existing protections for whistleblowers in the corporate and financial sector, saying they don't go far enough.
Labor MP Andrew Leigh says the draft laws, being debated on Monday, won't properly crack down on corporate wrongdoing and wants an inquiry to look at their limitations.
"We need to crackdown on this egregious form of corporate fraud and, through appropriate whistleblowing laws, we can do that," Dr Leigh said on Monday.
