What we know about missing AirAsia plane

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR ABOUT MISSING AIRASIA FLIGHT QZ8501:
* 162 passengers on board - (138 adult passengers, 17 children including an infant) as well as two pilots and five cabin crew
* Majority of passengers are Indonesian, also three South Koreans and one from Singapore, one from Malaysia, one from France and one British national
* Air traffic controllers lost contact about an hour after the jet left Juanda international airport in Surabaya, east Java, at 5.20am local time on Sunday
* Plane was scheduled to arrive in Singapore at 8.30am
* Before disappearing pilots sought permission to change flight path and climb above adverse weather
* Jet last underwent maintenance on November 16.
