WHAT FEDERAL, STATE AND TERRITORY LEADERS AGREED ON:

* State targets to help close the gap on indigenous disadvantage.

* The time frame on a review of the close the gap target will be extended to the end of October.

* NSW and Western Australia signed up to a new hospital deal - $9 billion and more than $3.5 billion respectively will flow into their state hospital systems over five years from 2020.

* A group of senior officials from across the country will work together on ideas to tackle cyberbullying.

* NSW and Victoria reiterated their intention to sell their shares in Snowy Hydro to the commonwealth, but work is still under way on terms of the sale.

* Leaders agreed to respond to the child sex abuse royal commission's final report by June.

* Experts will provide advice to the next leaders' meeting on reforming early childhood education and childcare.

* A schools funding deal with states and territories needs to be finalised by the end of September to provide schools with certainty for 2019 and beyond.

* The leaders considered ways to modernise state and federal electoral systems and noted the importance of cybersecurity health checks.
