A woman has had a lucky escape when her car was left dangling from the third storey of a south Sydney carpark.

The car was spotted hanging over a guard rail in the car park at Westfield Miranda shopping centre – more than ten metres from the concrete below – at 11.30am today.

NSW Ambulance crews, including Intensive Care paramedics and Special Operations paramedics, were at the shopping centre within minutes to treat the woman.

The 40-year-old suffered minor injuries when her airbags discharged and was taken to Sutherland Hospital for observation.

“With a potential fall of ten metres, this patient is very lucky to have only minor injuries,” NSW Ambulance Inspector Giles Buchanan said.

“Had the car crashed through the guard rail completely, we could have been looking at a far more serious outcome.”
