A teenager is in hospital with life threatening injuries after he was involved in an alleged hit-and-run in Perth.

CCTV footage captured the moments leading up to the incident, with a black sedan shown accelerating on Shearn Crescent in Doubleview, followed by loud sounds of screeching and crashing.

Some bystanders say they then saw the 16-year-old boy sent flying for metres.

"Seems like he's come round the roundabout, mounted the kerb," witness Travis Smith told 9News of the driver.

"[I] came here and saw the young fella laying down in the bushes over there in a pretty bad bad way," Smith added.

The 16-year-old tonight remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Police had been called to a house party on Shearn Crescent just before midnight on Friday following reports a group of people were fighting in the street.

When officers arrived, they were greeted with wrecked cars and the seriously injured teenager.

Police say the driver didn't stop to help the victim who lay bleeding on the ground and instead accelerated away.
