Man pleads guilty to kangaroo attack

A man accused of two sickening attacks on kangaroos, which were filmed and posted on social media, has pleaded guilty to a string of animal cruelty charges.

This morning 26-year-old Luke Kevin Dempster faced Joondalup Magistrates Court, in Perth's north.

The vision posted online shows kangaroos being shot, stabbed, and punched with knuckledusters.

Dempster also admitted to a separate incident where three people were shot with pellets from a gel blaster gun in May.

Police discovered the vision of the kangaroo torture while they were investigating that offence.

A state-wide manhunt for the people shown in the kangaroo torture videos led to the arrest of three men.

Animal Rights activists also attended court today with banners and signs.

The Magistrate has agreed to watch the videos before Dempster is sentenced on Wednesday.
