Driver critical after crane crashes, rolls

A man has been left fighting for life after his crane crashed and rolled in Western Australia's Pilbara region.
The driver was trapped for almost an hour while crews worked to try and free him.
The 41-year-old man was driving a 25-tonne articulated crane along the North West Coastal Highway in Mount Anketelle at about 3pm yesterday when a tyre blew out.

He lost control of the crane, which caused it to flip over.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital in Karratha before he was airlifted to Perth for further medical treatment at Royal Perth Hospital.
He remains in a critical condition.
