Western Australian police voice fears bitter bikie war could spill onto streets

Western Australian police say a bitter bikie war is spilling onto the streets, amid fears innocent bystanders could be caught in the crossfire.

It comes after six people were charged over a vicious brawl near Crown Casino last month.

It’s the latest show of violence in an intensifying bikie battle, between the Rebels and Comancheros. 

Heavily-armed police have been conducting raids on properties linked to both clubs, allegedly seizing drugs and weapons.

Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Beesley said police are urging licensed premises to be extra vigilant. 

“The fight at Burswood (Crown Casino) was at a public place on a Saturday night, with a lot of people around,” he said.

“We’ll always be there to help the security people when they’re dealing with that, because it’s quite intimidating.”

Several firebomb attacks on Perth tattoo parlours have been linked to the Rebels-Comancheros feud, as well as a shooting at Calista near Rockingham.

Police say the attackers in the Calista case used blue flashing light to convince the victims they were police, before opening fire.
