Melbourne pizza shop robbed by man armed with rolling pin and drill
Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery at a pizza shop in Melbourne’s southwest overnight.
It is alleged a man entered Sottile’s Pizza on Quarbing Street, Werribee just before 9pm yesterday and assaulted a staff member and the shop’s owner before fleeing on foot.
A staff member was making pizza when the man reached over the counter and allegedly punched the worker in the side of the face.

It is alleged he then punched the shop owner too, before grabbing a rolling pin and attempting to strike other terrified staff members.
A scuffle ensued which resulted in a damaged computer screen.
The punched staff member ran to the back of the store and locked a door behind him to stop the attacker from chasing him.
It is alleged the man came after staff members with a rolling pin and also used a drill to break through a rear door. 9News
The man then allegedly grabbed a drill from the store and started drilling through the door before breaking it open.
By that stage the worker had already escaped out the back door when the attacker allegedly smashed a rear window before fleeing with a bottle of soft drink.
The owner suffered a suspected broken nose and another man was taken to hospital with injuries to his upper body.
